This week is a mostly swingin’ affair – though, ironically, without any Sinatra from the album of the same name.
Happy Spring, everybody!

This show is about ballads. As much as I love to swing, I’ve always admired the ability of a ballad to make a person think – about love, life or the rest. This week’s “Broadway Bit” is brought to you by Bernadette Peters – mostly.
There’s also a little blues in here, too.
Enjoy!

Last year, around St. Patrick’s Day – and since the holiday itself fell on a Sunday – I featured some traditional Irish tunes on that weekend’s show. For this year’s show, I wanted to feature an entire show dedicated to mostly traditional Irish tunes. I own enough to cobble together some cool stuff.
So, close your eyes…and lean back…put the headphones on…and drive yourself – mind you, on the left hand side! – through Ireland.
Enjoy this VERY special presentation. I hope you enjoy it!

I just finished reading a book about New York City from the 1880s. At around the same time I finished it, I was listening to a lot of the Dorsey Brothers recordings from the 1930s.
So, I decided to do an entire show dedicated to nothing but big band. There’s no Broadway Bit this week & nothing recorded after 1945 – except the weekly dose of Johnny Hartman, who didn’t start recording until 1947.
This is a special show with a lot of very special music.
Enjoy!

Again, this week’s show is all over the place…but, it’s a tip of the cap to ‘Into The Woods’ by Sondheim.

This week’s edition of the show is all over the place opening with big band set, then to straight jazz then a feature of the First Act of Les Miserables from the Original Broadway Cast. We then close out the show with 30 minutes of ballads.
Beautiful!
Enjoy!

In the first hour, you’ll hear the Arts – Tatum & Blakey – Johnny Hartman, Nat Cole, Dinah Washington, a special treat of Glenn Miller, too!
