With the sun leaving us alone a few more hours than Spring or Summer this weekend, I decided to do a show that saluted the more thoughtful autumn. Ballads to be sure, but a few mid-tempo numbers too…
Enjoy!

This week’s episode is a return to form – after a month of fun & games with this show. I appreciate you indulging me with this over the last bit, but with the end of summer comes the end of fun & games…right? 🙂
Anyway, do enjoy this tour de force of swing, standards & Sondheim.

This week’s show is all about ‘groove.’ There’s also a bit of commentary & a tribute to close the show.
Enjoy!
I am also including this interview about Dave Brubeck’s experience with race & his service in the military.

This week’s show is again a pretty strong, barnstormer of a show.
That said, it also includes a tribute to Jeff Buckley – as he passed 18 years ago yesterday, May 29th.
Enjoy!

As you may know by the time you read this that B.B. King passed away Thursday evening in Las Vegas around 9:40pm local time on May 14th, 2015. A combination of a small bout of insomnia & a desire to deliver a fresh show in partial tribute to this legend, I decided to work overnight to put that together.
The first or so hour is all B.B. King. The second hour is music that would have inspired B.B & almost any blues musician.
I hope you enjoy this small detour & devotion to a master.
May the Mississippi keep flowing…

This week’s show starts off with a 3-track salute to one of the godfathers of blues, jazz & rock in Big Joe Turner – you’ll even hear a solid quotation from Fletcher Henderson in one of “Big Joe’s” numbers.
The rest of the show is a solid smattering of standard, bop & jazz – plus a ‘Broadway Bit’ that includes a young Jerry Orbach.
Enjoy!

This week’s show is dedicated to the women. It’s all women all the time on this one. The first half of the show is standard issue standards. The second half has some of those, but it’s decidedly different from the first half. You’ll hear some blues, rock, folk, country & more.
To the women!
Enjoy!

This year’s Christmas show clocks in at well over 4 hours – and I couldn’t be happier about that!
If you love Nat King Cole or Ella Fitzgerald or nearly any form of traditional Christmas music, you’ll enjoy this show.
Here’s the list of the other artist’s featured on this year’s show:
See what I mean? 4 and 1/2 hours!
I wish you all an AMAZING holiday season & a WONDERFUL New Year!
